FBC YOUTH

Our goal is to provide an open atmosphere where students can know that they matter. Where students can be honest, open, heard, accepted, and equipped to live as a light for Christ, no matter what the cost! Along with the open atmosphere, we give our students the opportunity to take ownership of the group to grow themselves in multiple ways. For example, they can join the Youth Leadership team and have specific responsibilities, or they can join the Youth Worship Band and learn how to apply their gifts and talents to honor the Lord.

Our model for living comes from Matthew 22:37-40. Scripture is a grand story that teaches us how to have right relationships with God and each other in light of the resurrection of Christ. We strive to bring change in our students and the world through worship, witness, and community.

Love God

We are called to worship and love God first and foremost. We strive to worship God through song, prayer and study leading to practical change students can apply in their lives.

Love your neighbor

We are called to be a witness to our neighbors, near and far, to the work God has done in our lives. We do this by serving our community and empowering our students to be a light wherever they end up.

Love Community

Within all this, we strive to worship and witness together as a community. Scripture is about relationships, and we want to build strong relationships between our students to give them the foundation to share their own life as a living witness of God.

WEEKLY RHYTHM

Sundays

Sunday Mornings are our time for a Biblical lesson, group discussion, and fellowship time. We hang out in the Youth Room from 9:00-9:30, where Breakfast is provided! Then, we dive in as a group, starting at 9:30 and ending at 10:15.

Sunday Nights are Youth Choir and Bible study. We have Youth Choir practice from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm in the Choir Room, and then we eat dinner for 20 minutes, and finally we head to the Youth Room and spend the rest of the night doing a deep dive into a specific book in the Bible, chapter by chapter, until 7:00 pm.

Wednesdays

On Wednesdays, we enjoy some food and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall starting at 5:00 pm. Starting at 6:00, we’ll kick off the night with a game, followed by Youth-led worship. Following worship, we have a large group teaching/discussion that focuses on topical things from “That’s a Good Question” to “How to Tell My Story,” which ends at 7:15.

YOUTH WORSHIP

Our Youth Worship teams meet every week in the Chapel from 5:30-6:10 to grow our hearts for worshipping the Lord through music. Everyone is welcome to join the team no matter the instrument!
