Our Beliefs
We declare our trust in Jesus Christ as Lord, as revealed in the Bible, which we embrace as the first and final authority for our lives. We interpret and apply the Bible in community with one another as we seek to follow Jesus and steward our God-given ability to know God and God’s will. We also aim to share God’s love with our neighbors, both locally and around the world, through the witness of our words and of our actions. As a Baptist congregation, we baptize disciples by immersion upon their profession of faith in Christ, and we welcome new members from other Christian traditions who have experienced believer’s baptism. The Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) and the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) are our primary state and global partners. We identify closely with the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message as a summary of our core beliefs extracted from scripture.
