Julia was born and raised in South Africa as a missionary kid before moving to Virginia. She attended Baylor University, where she received a BA in International Studies, MDiv from George W. Truett Theological Seminary, and MSW from the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work. She and her husband, Michael, also lived in Beirut, Lebanon where they served with a local non-profit. Julia enjoys spending time with their dog, Walter, as well as playing games, camping, traveling, or reading a good book.
