Austin was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, and graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with a B.A. in Music Ministry and Media Studies. Austin previously served on staff at a church in South Dakota and worked in the University of Sioux Falls Campus Ministries department. He moved to Waco with his wife, Emma, to pursue an MDiv from Truett Seminary. They enjoy watching movies, reading, and going on walks with their dog, Walter.
