Christmas
Party--Saturday, December
13--we'll hit the best
of the FBC Waco nightlife
during our Christmas
Progressive dinner. No
one wants to study all
weekend...take a break and
come celebrate the season
with good friends,
homemade food, and fun
surprises. Meet at
church at 5:30 pm--and
we'll be back between 9:00
and 10:00.
Spring Break 2009--Mission
Trip to the Border--want
to make a difference this
Spring Break? We're
planning a trip to work on
the Texan/Mexican border
with kids and families
alongside local churches.
We're looking to leave
Sunday, March 8 and to
return Friday, March 13.
The church will help with
the expenses. Spanish is
helpful but not
necessary. Are you
potentially interested?
Email me and let me know (ckruschwitz@fbcwaco.org)...we
need to get a count soon.
After Egypt
Conference--December 5-6,
FBC Waco--Ladies, this
is a conference held at
FBC Waco specifically for
college women. It should
be really good...it's
being put on by some
friends of mine from
Truett. Check out the
website for more info:
www.afteregypt.org.
Weekly Events
First Place--Wednesday,
9:00 PM College Chapel--join
us for our weekly time of
fellowship, Bible study,
and worship. These next
couple weeks we're going
to celebrate the Advent
season and try to discern
more deeply how Christ's
birth is affects us
personally today. It
should be a great way to
prepare spiritually for
Christmas. Come and add
your voice to the
conversation!
Sunday School--Sunday,
9:30 AM
College Chapel--every
Sunday morning
we drink coffee, munch on
some breakfast snacks,
worship, and study the
Bible together. Come join
us before the corporate
worship service! Coffee
and snacks begin at
9:00 am.
We're excited to have
Debbie Perry teaching.
Sunday Night Dinner,
December 7--instead of
going to church members'
houses for dinner in
December, we'll be
attending the Sunday
night Advent services
as a college community.
The services will be
creative experiences that
will help us prepare for
the birth of Christ. They
start at 6:00 pm
each week and will last
under an hour. After
the service, we'll eat
dinner together.
Need some love??—The
church is full of older
folks who want to be your
adopted parents! Do you
want to be treated to a
nice meal? Need some
folks from whom you can
learn the ins and outs of
Waco—good
doctors, local tricks,
etc. Want a place to do
laundry? If so, consider
letting some of our FBC
families adopt you! Talk
to Curt (ckruschwitz@fbcwaco.org)
for more information.
Community Ministry
Opportunities
ESL childcare workers—Do
you like kids? Want to
share God’s love tangibly
with folks immigrating to
the
USA?
The church really needs
people to keep kids while
parents attend our ESL
classes…
